Dashmi
"Dashmi" a
traditional Maharashtrian dish. Also known as 'tikhat poli'. Nutritious and
easy to make. Best during travelling as it lasts up to 2 to 3 days.
Ingredients:
Wheat flour 2 cups
Red chili powder 1
1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 3/4
tsp
Sesame seeds 1 tsp
Carom seeds (ajwain)
1/2 tsp
Asafetida 1/2 tsp
Coriander chopped
(optional)
Oil/ ghee for
greasing
Salt to taste
Water
Method:
- Take a bowl, add wheat flour followed with all ingredients except water. Mix everything nicely.
- Now add water to make soft dough (like for roti) and knead well.
- Make small balls of the dough and roll them like chapati.
- Heat a pan and roast them nicely (same like roti) flipping on the other side.
- Grease them with oil or ghee. Dashmi is ready to serve.
- Serve with pickel, peanut chutney or with ghee.
