Onion Tomato Salad/ Raita

Maharashtrian salad with yogurt. Generally called as "Koshimbir" in marathi or "pacchadi" in kannada. Serves as a side dish.

Serving: 3 to 4 Person
Time: 10 to 15 Min

Ingredients:
Tomato 2 Finely Chopped
Onion 1 Finely Chopped
Green Chilies 2 chopped
Curry leaves 2 to 3
Sugar 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder pinch of
Asafetida pinch of
Yogurt (Curd) 2 Tsp
Peanut powder 2 tsp
Coriander for garnishing

Method:
  1. Take a bowl, add finely chopped tomato and onion.
  2. Heat oil in a small pan (saucepan), add mustard seeds wait to crackle, once crackled add cumin seeds, asafetida, chopped green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, stir well till green chilies get fry nicely. Turn off the flame.
  3. Pour all hot mixture over finely chopped tomato and onion, mix it wel.
  4. Now add peanut powder, yogurt salt and sugar.
  5. Mix everything nicely. Garnish with coriander.

Tip:
          Always add yogurt, sugar, salt while serving or just before. Otherwise salad oozes out water.
